Model School Libraries

Equip public primary schools with libraries having age-relevant learning resources and facilitating fun reading and writing programs to improve learners’ literacy skills.

Capacity Development

Empower teacher-librarians with Library Management Skills (LMS), and Junior Reading Champions(JRCs)/library prefects to assist the teacher in managing the library and conducting sustainable literacy programs.

Advocacy

Advocate for effective literacy policies and measures that improve quality education value-chain from teacher colleges to schools and communities.

We are dedicated to creating sustainable solutions and enriching lives by improving access to knowledge through innovative capacity-building services for organizations and teachers.

Vibrant Libraries

This is a unique writing competition to equip and empower learners aged 10-18 years in public schools with practical skills and tools that can broaden their minds, nurture their creativity and get published as authors.

Project Angaza

This program enhances access to libraries beyond the classroom. It incorporates the ubuntu concept of books on wheels where a host school shares a library with the neighbouring schools but also community reading programs are established. The program compliments government efforts of no learner is left behind by enhancing access to reading materials beyond classroom

Read & Play

This program leverages on the power of sports and play to motivate and increase learners’ readershipThe project employs a three-pronged approach; 1. Capacity Building of Teachers to champion effective reading programs and effectively manage school libraries 2. Establishment of School Libraries 3. Sports – leveraging sport to enhance increased readership.

Capacity Building

Teacher librarians, Junior reading champions/library prefects and career mentorship.

KU-LEA is a mentorship and coaching program that equips learners aged 14 to 18 years by equipping them with key life skills to succeed in school and in life. The program models learners to acquire 21st century skills such as; critical thinking, communication and creativity, and also guides them in planning and growing in their career paths.

Our advocacy pillar employs a multi-faceted approach to influence desired change through;

b) Teachers as champions for bringing books to life through the library reading programs;
c) Advocating for effective library policies while embracing storybooks as language textbooks.
