The National Read Aloud
The National Read Aloud is an initiative that was conceived in 2013, provoked by the saying that if you wanted to hide something from an African, hide it in a book.
This initiative involves uniting learners from across the country to read aloud from the same text, at the same time, in different locations, in an effort to amplify the voices of Kenyan children through reading.
The National Read Aloud 2024
This year, we aim to use the transformative power of reading to amplify the voices of African children in the fight against climate change.
Climate change threatens not only our planet but our emotional well-being as well. Children and young people bear the brunt of the impact of climate change.
Education for sustainable development equips children with the knowledge, skills, values and actions to create a world that thrives in harmony with nature.
